After getting once more the problem with my Windows VISTA system (Viruses and Trojans) I re-installed my system last week. Since then till now it has already past more than seven days configuring my system, installing updates, installing the programs that i need (mostly security tools - ggrrrr… you NEED A LOT OF them in today’s world to survive), de-installing the programs that are not needed by me and the vendor installed them as a WHOLE SALE by default!!!, and ACTIVATING ALL MY PRODCUTS one after the another ( These are really too many programs like MC Affee Internet security, Windows Vista, Microsoft Office, Nero, A few of the different ADOBE versions, Acronis True Image and so on…………………….. this list is not complete yet ).
After searching in internet for many hours, a program or method of making a backup of the Microsoft Office 2007 activation, I found this cool piece of software OPA-Backup should be called as Office Product Activation Backup (also downloadable here from the original GERMAN LANGUAGE website) UPDATE : (English language software available in version 3.0.1 here) which is able to make a backup and restore the activation of different Microsoft Office products from Office XP, MS Office 2003 to MS Office 2007 versions.
The reason I am writing about this software here is, this software is in GERMAN language and I wanted to help the ENGLISH speaking people who are searching for a method to backup there activation files desperately.
So this is a piece of software which just makes the copy of your already legally activated product which you already activated (after giving a genuine original searial number in the installed Microsoft office product), this doesn’t matter if you activated your product through internet by contacting the Microsoft activation server or you activated Office per telephone. And this software download also don’t have any serials or keys included for any of the Microsoft products. Again, this is not a software to hack the activation process of Microsoft office suite to make the office software a pirated version and let you use illegally.
WARNING :: Please read the step (5) very carefully to work the Office Activation restore method for you!!! (Don’t blame afterwords if you don’t read properly the whole procedure)!!!!

Backing up your Office products activation on any windows based system.
1) First run the program file opabackup30.exe by double-clicking on it (or by right clicking it and choosing run as administrator).
It will ask you to run it as administrator under vista, if you are not already working with the administrator rights, It will display you this picture.
After running the program as administrator it will look like this.
2) Than you can click on the drop down to choose the version of your Microsoft office product i.e. MS Office XP, MS Office 2003, or MS Office 2007. See the photo under.
After selecting the office version you have installed (2007, 2003 or XP) on your computer click on Weiter> (Next >) Tab.
3) Now in the next picture you can see which version you have chosen and if it is activated (Aktiviert) — ja (yes). Under this you have two options to chose,
3(a) Sicherung anlegen (Make a Backup).
3(b) Sicherung zurückschreiben (RESTORE a Backup).
We will choose here the first option ->3(a) to make a backup copy of our Microsoft Office product activation and than we click on Weiter> (Next).
4) On next window you can set the path of the folder where we want to save the activation of MS Office 2003, XP or 2007 version.
Here if you will choose the activation path on the same partition where you installed the Microsoft office or WINDOWS , [i.e. C:\ as per default], the opabackup program will show you a warning window that you are saving the Activation data on the same partition where you have installed the MS Office and Windows.
Just click — JA (OK) if you want to save the activation on the same partition otherwise you can choose any other partition for the backup by clicking on Nein (NO).
After choosing the right path click on Weiter (Next), Now you will see this window displaying you that the product activation file (something like this –> Backup-Microsoft_Office_2007-06_04_2009_23_18_16.opa) has been saved successfully. This *.opa format I think is own format of this program - never heard before.

5) Restoring the activation of microsoft office products after a new installation of Windows.
5(a) Install the Windows XP or Windows Vista.
5(b) Install the Microsoft office 2007, MS office 2003 or MS office XP with the serial that you got at the time of purchasing your computer or you bought Microsoft office separately :: MAKE SURE THAT YOU (or installer of MS OFFICE) DO NOT RUN Office product after the Installation!!!!
5(c) Restore the activation of your Microsoft office product (that you saved before Reinstalling windows) with this software OPA-BACKUP 3.0
5(d) Start the Microsoft Office AFTER RESTORING BACK the activation.
Final word about restoring the activation of Microsoft Office 2007, 2003 or Office XP
As I mentioned above that I re-installed my windows last week, that’s why I was not yet able to test if this restoring back process works properly. It will be very nice to see if it worked for any one of you who wants to re-install his windows system. Don’t forget to write a comment about how the process of Backing up the office and restoring it back on a new installed system worked for you, there are many people out there who would like to know if it worked successfully.
